Zhu Haibin-Collector of Ancient Ceramic Toy Works

On the morning of January 8, 2014, collector Zhu Haibin donated his collection of ancient ceramic toys to the National Art Museum of China. The donation ceremony was held in the VIP room of the National Art Museum of China. The director of the National Art Museum of China, Mr. Fan Di'an, the donor Zhu Haibin and his friends, and the folk art department and collection department of the National Art Museum of China attended the donation ceremony. Mr. Zhu Haibin, a native of Zhengzhou, Henan, is a collector of ancient ceramic toys. He has served as an executive director of Henan Ceramics Committee. He is now a porcelain appraisal expert of Beijing Guobo Jiaming Culture Co., Ltd. At the end of 2012 and 2013 respectively, Mr. Zhu Haibin donated his many-year collection of folk art works to the National Art Museum of China, a total of 266 pieces/set. These exquisite ancient toys are a precious heritage of my country's history and culture, and some of them are rare in the world. More importantly, these works have a complete system, covering all historical periods since the Han and Tang Dynasties, and are of great significance to enriching the national folk art collection. Curator Fan Di’an issued a donation certificate to Mr. Zhu Haibin. At the donation ceremony, Mr. Zhu Haibin first introduced the development of ancient ceramic toys and the experience of family collection. Curator Fan Di’an spoke highly of Mr. Zhu Haibin’s willingness to donate his family’s generations of collections to the country in his ideological realm and dedication in the market and business environment, and at the same time affirmed the academic, artistic and historical value of these ancient ceramic toys. The National Art Museum of China expresses its deep respect and gratitude to its donation, and will assume the responsibility of preserving and displaying these works forever. Director Fan Di'an presented the donation certificate to Mr. Zhu Haibin on behalf of the National Art Museum of China. Mr. Zhu Haibin accepted the donation certificate and expressed his deep gratitude to the National Art Museum of China for accepting his donated works. Mr. Zhu Haibin’s donation will not only help the nation’s collection of ancient ceramic toys to form a more complete historical sequence, but will also contribute to the advancement and development of related research in cultural history and art history.
