On the 28th, the General Administration of Customs of China announced the top ten typical cases of intellectual property protection by China Customs in 2013, including cases involving counterfeit perfumes, clothing, medicines, mobile phones and cigarettes involving famous brands such as 'VERSACE' and 'CHANELCases involving imported milk powder, batteries, wigs, and stimulants. According to the General Administration of Customs, in 2013, China's customs seized infringing goods mainly infringed on trademark exclusive rights, and infringing goods detained in export supervision still accounted for the majority, while shipping, postal and express shipments were the main channels for detaining infringing goods. From the perspective of the types of goods detained by the customs, consumer goods such as tobacco, hardware machinery, cosmetics and care products, clothing and shoes, and auto parts are the main ones. Among them, infringement and counterfeit drugs, sports equipment, storage media, other mechanical and electrical products, toys and games are seized. The quantity of goods such as telecommunications equipment has increased significantly compared with the previous year. A total of 673,000 tablets of counterfeit drugs were detained throughout the year, an increase of nearly 5.7 times over the same period in 2012. According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs, in 2013, China Customs took over 23,600 intellectual property protection measures, suspending the release of 23,686 batches of suspected infringing goods, involving more than 280 million suspected infringing goods; actually detained 20,464 batches of suspected infringing goods involving suspected infringing goods Nearly 76 million pieces. At the same time, China Customs proactively investigated and dealt with a large number of cases of import and export infringement of intellectual property rights by strengthening the actual supervision of import and export goods and making full use of risk management methods in 2013. Among the suspected infringing goods detained in 2013, the batches of goods detained by the customs voluntarily and ex officio accounted for about 99%, and the quantity of goods accounted for about 93%.
