Original title: Russian military introduces combat robots to the public Xinhua News Agency, Moscow, July 6th: Russian Future Research Foundation Chairman Andrei Grigoriev told the public through Today’s Russian News Agency on the 6th that Russia is developing as planned Combat robots. According to reports, Russia’s existing combat robot Nerekhta uses a combat platform designed by the Future Research Foundation. The Future Research Foundation designs and produces robot components such as avionics, integrated operating systems, engines, etc. The robots are assembled by orderers such as the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Federal Security Agency, and the Ministry of Emergency Situations. These orderers know better what kind of robot they need. The robot, like Lego toys, is quickly assembled from different parts and structures, Grigoriev said. The Russian Future Soldier Combat Equipment Soldier System, which has attracted much attention from all walks of life, was also designed by the foundation. Grigoriev said that the soldier series individual combat system is designed to provide soldiers with all-weather comfortable combat suits, including shooting weapons, bulletproof protection, communication systems, nutritional support, and medical support. The Soldier-2 equipment of this series was developed in March 2015 and delivered to the Russian Ministry of Defense for mass production. As of the end of 2015, about 80,000 soldiers were equipped with this set of equipment. Grigoriev also said that the Future Research Foundation has now begun to develop the Soldier-3 individual combat system. The system will be equipped with a power unit to improve the mobility of soldiers. Grigoriev believes that future wars will become more robotized, and soldiers will become behind-the-scenes operators to minimize casualties. According to Grigoriev, the Future Research Foundation currently has 46 laboratories in charge of 46 different projects, and 15 military research projects are in the preparatory stage. Currently, 46 major military scientific research projects, including combat robots, are under development. The Future Research Foundation, which is affiliated to the Military Industry Committee of the Russian Government, was established in 2012. It is the Russian military's high-tech weapons research and development base, mainly engaged in breakthrough and high-risk research.
