Recently, the Shandong Consumers’ Association purchased 30 samples of children’s plush toys including animal plush toys, cartoon animation character plush toys, and foam particle toys from Jinan and Qingdao respectively, and carried out comparative experiments on plush toys. . After testing, more than 80% of the 30 plush toy samples have poor mechanical performance and more problems. The parts are easy to fall off. In this comparative test, there are problems with 39 mechanical and physical properties of 21 samples. One is foreseeable reasonable abuse and testing of small parts of toys used by children aged 36 months and under. The eyes and other parts of 6 sample toys fall off after tensile test to form small parts, which are easy to be swallowed by children and cause a choking hazard. The plastic bags or plastic films of 16 samples used in packaging or toys are too thin. If they are touched by children, the plastic bags may be applied to the face of the children, posing a risk of suffocation. The production failed. In this comparative test, there are 12 toy samples used by children aged 18 months and under. The rope loops formed by the ribbons or straps are too large to cover the head of the child, which is likely to cause strangulation hazard to the child; the mouth line and foot on the toy If the thread is too loose, it is easy to cause strangulation of children's fingers. The four samples showed cracks and holes. Some materials such as stuffed cotton and pellet bags can be taken out of the damaged toy. The sewing quality and material strength of the toy are also problematic to varying degrees. High formaldehyde content. In the comparative test, the formaldehyde content of a sample was 96.1 mg/kg, which exceeded the national standard limit of 20 mg/kg. Children's play with toys is not limited to skin contact with hands and feet. Younger children prefer to put toys in their mouths. If the formaldehyde content is too high, it is prone to adverse consequences. China Consumers Association stated that up to now, my country has 31 national toy standards. The 2003 version of the 'National Toy Safety Technical Specification' is the most basic and most important national standard for toys, which stipulates mandatory technical requirements such as mechanical and physical properties, combustion properties, migratable chemical elements, labels and instructions that toy products must follow. Recently, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and the National Standards Committee have further revised these standards, and the new standards will be implemented on January 1, 2016. When consumers buy toys, they should not only pay attention to the national compulsory product certification mark, but also see the product name, manufacturer information, main materials or ingredients, age group, safety warnings, product qualification certificates, etc., to avoid negligence. Children cause harm.
