FRP sculpture production method

To make a glass fiber reinforced plastic sculpture, it requires very complicated production steps. First, the skeleton needs to be welded. After the skeleton is welded, the plaster is put on and the plaster outer mold is made. After the plaster mold is dry, the plaster abrasive tool can be disassembled. To make the inner film of FRP, the inner film needs to be polished, colored and polished. Manufacturing method of glass fiber reinforced plastic sculpture 1. Frame welding A complete sculpture skeleton is mainly composed of a wooden base and an angle steel bracket. After the main supporting frame is fixed, the general shape of the sculpture is made with steel bars; then on this basis, thin iron wires and wood crosses are wound to hold the subsequent mud and prevent it from falling. The balance of the construction of the sculpture shelf is extremely important. It determines the shape of the entire sculpture after completion and is also the key basis for the success of the sculpture. 2. 上泥 The application of the mud is a hearty process. A large piece of mud with moderate hardness is hung on the sculpture frame, and its form slowly emerges. In the process of hanging the mud, the soft sculpture is easy to collapse when the mud is too hard, and it is not easy to carry out the next step of shaping. Moderation is a process of accumulation of experience. Soft sculptures tend to form the appearance of under-sized structures. The shape is established in the increase and decrease of the mud, and it takes more time to shape the detailed shape in the entire sculpture creation. 3. To rebuild the plaster outer mold, insert inserts into the made clay sculpture as a mold line for dividing the mold; then plaster the plaster evenly, generally at least three layers are required to ensure that each layer is covered. And the firmness of the mold; then wait for the plaster to solidify and dry at room temperature. Generally speaking, the inserts can be made of iron or aluminum, or they can be made on-site, using aluminum cans to cut the inserts. 4. Unload the mold and remove the mud. After the plaster mold is hardened, open the mold and clean the mud inside the mold for subsequent use in reworking FRP. The gypsum outer mold needs to be broken after FRP reworking to take out the FRP inner mold. Unloading the mold and removing the mud is a big project for a big work. Digging out is a great liberation after the work is completed. Take out the previously made mud little by little. This process is like releasing, looking forward to the next step. 5. Making FRP inner molds Replacing FRP sculptures on plaster molds, generally using hand lay-up molding process. After the mold is cleaned, a layer of glue and a layer of glass fiber cloth are used. Each step determines the execution time of the next step according to the situation, and waits for the glass fiber reinforced plastic to solidify after laying. 6. u200bu200bPolished glass fiber reinforced plastic sculpture Unsaturated resin has a certain shrinkage rate after solidification, and the surface is rough, and at the same time bubbles will be generated, which needs to be filled and polished again. Polishing starts from the time of reworking, which is a process that takes more time and is less effective. The fine effects of the works are basically completed by polishing and finishing. The mud is soft, but when it is turned into glass fiber reinforced plastic, it is hard. Many shapes have to be finished on a hard texture later, which is equivalent to another shaping. FRP is constantly improved in the complicated creation. Polishing is a kind of practice 7. Coloring and glazing Different artists have different coloring styles and coloring techniques. Just like painting, each color will express a different state and emotion in everyone's hands. The surface of the sculpture is colored in different ways for different materials. The bronze sculptures of the ancient Greeks are usually cast by the dewaxing method to ensure the details and structure of the surface of the body. When artists who used bronze as the material for their creations began to use bronze to express emotional shapes and structures, coloring played little role in the surface effect of sculptures. The coloring of glass fiber reinforced plastic is one of the prerequisites in the creation of figurative realism sculptures. What distinguishes it is the simplicity or the complexity of the surface effect. 8. Installation Installation usually takes into account the on-site effect of the work and the environment in which the sculpture is placed. The size of the sculpture, the combination of sculpture components, the tolerance of the base, the stability of the work, and so on. Installation and exhibition of sculptures are the last step of the artist's creation, and it is also a very important step. A good work is equivalent to a second creation in the exhibition space. The contextual setting of the work guides the audience to have a guided self-recognition on the exhibition site and the work through the context, and also enables the artist’s work to be further understood. This is one of the important meanings of contemporary art works. The work is not simply displayed. , Furnishings, the relationship between objects and space, and the relationship with people in the exhibition site, each other to build a scene.
