CCTV, Shantou, September 29, Shantou, Guangdong Chenghai is an important toy industry base in my country, and toy exports have always occupied an important position in Shantou’s foreign trade exports. According to Shantou Customs statistics, from January to August this year, enterprises in Shantou exported 4.19 billion yuan in toys, an increase of 5% over the same period last year (the same below). Among them, exports in general trade accounted for 97.1% of the total export value of toys in Shantou during the same period. From the perspective of export markets, ASEAN is the largest export market for toys in Shantou, with exports of 1.44 billion yuan, a decrease of 0.5%. Among other major export markets, exports to Hong Kong and South Korea declined; exports to the European Union, the United Arab Emirates and the United States all increased by more than 30%. Since the beginning of this year, the improvement of international economic conditions, the support of foreign trade by local governments, the implementation of customs clearance facilitation measures, and the financial innovation of enterprises themselves have helped toy exports stabilize and rebound. Among them, the combined development of the toy industry and the animation industry has gradually become a highlight of the toy industry's transformation and upgrading and gaining a new development space. It is worth noting that more than 10 local leading toy companies in Shantou City actively integrate toys and animation, which has increased the added value and market recognition of toy products, and promoted the establishment of corporate brand and image. Shantou's animation and toy industry has a certain The scale and growth rate of output value. According to customs data, in August this year, Shantou exported 750 million yuan in toys, a year-on-year increase of 9% and a month-on-month increase of 5.1%, which is the highest single-month export value since 2013. At present, the export of toys in Shantou City maintains a good momentum, but customs analysts pointed out that the increasingly stringent international testing standards urgently need to arouse the attention of enterprises. If the US releases a plasticizer risk report on July 18 this year, the barriers to children’s toys will be upgraded; on July 1, Hong Kong’s newly revised 'Toys and Children’s Products Safety Regulations' will be officially implemented. The content of phthalates puts forward new requirements. From January to July this year, in the EU RAPEX system's notification of Chinese products, toy products ranked first in the notification list, accounting for more than 40%. For this reason, the Customs recommends to pay close attention to the latest international toy regulations and standards information, strengthen technological upgrading, strengthen core competitive advantages, and improve proactive response capabilities.
